Dental Spanish.

Spanish dentists are among the most qualified and esteemed around Europe, and in recent years Spanish dental clinics are investing in dental tourism, especially for Britain citizens; indeed, as a matter of facts, the country is one of the most favourite destinations for people from the U.K., for tourism, second homes, and retirement.

For this reason, in Spain every kind of English speaking facility is available and the number of low-cost flights from all British airports makes getting there very easy; at the same time, it is very easy to reach every side of Spain from any country.

Spanish dental system has its particular characteristics: almost all dental cares providers are private, as free cares are only for children from 6 to 15 and in a case of emergency treatments for adults. In any other case who needs dental cares has to pay a private dentist or sign up for a private dental insurance; the Spanish state healthcare system doesn’t cover dental treatment.

Anyway, as dental clinics are all private, there is a lot of competition among them, and each one tries to offer the latest technology and the most wide range of treatments at the best price. Even if someone living there for a short period wants to subscribe a private dental insurance, the cost will be very affordable, around 10-15 euros per month: usually, a dental insurance provides some treatments for free, such as dental check-ups, cleaning, fluoridation and sometimes x-rays, while it can provide discounts of up to around 40% on treatments such as fillings, root canal work, wisdom teeth and others; every health insurance company has its network of dentists which the patient has to refer to.

For children from 6 to 15 years old, it is possible to receive free dental cares if they are registered with the Spanish state healthcare system.
